About Kelsey Salsman

Kelsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Specialized Studies with a focus on Anthropology, Media Arts, and Gender Studies from Ohio University. She obtained her Master’s Degree in mental health Counseling from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Kelsey has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages in various clinical settings, including private practice, college counseling, community mental health centers, and youth homeless and rehabilitation shelters. She has helped individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, postpartum concerns, relationship conflicts, complex family dynamics, academic concerns, complex trauma, and other mood and behavioral difficulties. Kelsey believes that sometimes, being human is hard. We all deserve and benefit from having a space to explore, unburden, and heal from past wounds. Kelsey creates a supportive and empowering environment where she works collaboratively with clients to identify individual needs to improve their quality of life. She utilizes an integrative approach, drawing on various evidence-based practices, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused, Family Systems, and other clinical models to best assist clients on their healing journey.
